Proven Methods Based on Stanford-Approved Study

Eyewords™ Multisensory Reading Materials and teaching methodology have received attention and acclaim. When combined with orthographic mapping, Eyewords™ are proven to be a more effective method for learning high-frequency words than phonics instruction alone.

Eyewords™ materials and methodology were the focus of iterative, quantitative research conducted by an independent team of researchers from Stanford University.

"Thank you for providing a resource that has had an impact on learning outcomes for our struggling readers. This has been an excellent addition to our supplemental resources." - Tony Giampa, Principal

"Eyewords have been an excellent addition to the resources that the speech-language pathologists promote. They are such a fantastic way to teach sight words and this resource has definitely made it more appealing for teachers to target this important skill. Thanks again!!" - Janice L., Speech and Language Pathologist

Who Designed This Program

Eyewords™ was created by a multidisciplinary team of educators, in collaboration with children of different ages and abilities, speech and language pathologists, researchers, and designers to address a need to to build a strong foundation in early reading skills.

In the early days, the development of Eyewords™ was created to complement existing practices in phonics instruction.

As a result, it was found in most kindergarten and primary classrooms to provide a new multisensory approach to teaching the high-frequency words, many of which are difficult to contextualize and to decode phonetically.

Remove Learning Barriers in Early Literacy.

Backed by a published study conducted on Eyewords™ by Stanford University and supported by the latest research in cognitive neuroscience and linguistics, Eyewords™ engaging materials and multisensory method are proven effective for all learners.

Eyewords™ are a valuable resource for turning high frequency words into sight words, removing learning barriers for early learners and struggling readers.

Scientific research has validated that for sight word acquisition, the method of combining an embedded picture, contextual phrase, and related kinesthetic action with orthographic mapping is more effective than plain text with phonics instruction alone. This new discovery opens up a world of opportunities to effectively remove learning barriers to sight reading the high frequency words.
